Lion City Hotel Kizilay - Ankara

WiFi outages mar experience but great location and clean rooms make up for it

It is a comfy property located in Kizilay district close enough to public transport, Ankara or other big cities in Turkey and Belko bus stop.

The room upgrade was a good surprise. Daily complimentary tea service offered a nice touch, and the staff's readiness to assist with taxi arrangements was greatly appreciated.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 7 nights stay. Absolutely perfect location - walking distance to everywhere we needed. Plus, Konur Street access was convenient, within 5 minutes walk. The room was big and fashionable, had a mini bar fridge, air conditioning, and an individual safe.

Sadly, but there was bad smell in some areas.

Positive, Great location just off a busy street. Staff upgraded us to a beautiful family room for free, a lifesaver. The breakfast was surprisingly good. Cleaning services were on point and they helped us arrange a taxi without asking.

Really tasty breakfast with a huge variety of options, gorgeous and fairly clean place. What a good location close to underground! Beautifully maintained rooms with exceptionally comfortable beds, central heating, a personal safe and flat-screen television.

It was centrally located

Basically the hotel has seen better days, it could do with a good renovation. Unfortunately the staff's grasp of English was minimal. Turkish bath and internal swimming pool were not working. The room smelt of smoke.

Location is good if you want too find restaurants etc. Hotel is far from historical city center ; you will have to go by metro if you want to visit Museum of Anatolia Civilization

Bad welcoming, room was not prepared. We had to ask for cleaning the room (they won't do that by themselves) and ... it was dirty after cleaning !!! Services were expected like swimming pool, massage etc : everything was closed and there was no water in the swimming pool (it was 40°C in ankara those days !!!). Check out takes 20 minutes etc etc. Customers go away, the worst hotel we've seen since a long time !!!

Convenient location near Kizilay Square. The internet connection was inconsistent .

The location is just buzzing with culinary excitement! Right around the corner, you've got Turkey's best doner at Tavukcu Lokantasi, and a quick hop to Kizilay Aspava Cigerci for some mouth-watering liver dish. The free tea and Turkish coffee at the hotel kept my energy up during all my food adventures, and I can't forget about the spacious, clean rooms that was just like a little oasis after a day out!

It's a wonderful low cost hotel with great location in Kizilay district not far from metro and buses, the airport, and Kizilay Square and good restaurants.

Excellent location, responsive staff, complimentary luggage storage

Wi-Fi connectivity issues!!! Air conditioning problems persistently impact comfort!!! Upgrade needed for bathroom facilities to avoid unpleasant odors!!! Consider reducing noise from adjacent rooms for a more peaceful stay!!!

The location is mint, heaps close to everything. Room was tidy, but the shower could've been better. Chur to the staff for being so friendly!

Couldn't recommend more for a holiday

Clean room, comfortable bed, with free Wi-Fi, made it easy to stay connected , while the hotel's strategic location allowed me to easily explore the bustling area between Kizilay and Kolej metro stations.
